Which weather affects sailings

Night cruise boats are affected by rain, snow, strong wind and changing water levels. In these conditions sailings may be rescheduled, moved to another berth or temporarily suspended, subject to on-site arrangements. This is not poor service — it is the basic safety logic of operating on water.

  • Strong wind: deck areas may close or be restricted, reducing the viewing experience.
  • Water level changes: these affect docking and routing and may shorten the route.
  • Heavy rain or lightning: the likelihood of suspension rises markedly for safety reasons.

What to do if a sailing changes

  • Check the order lookup page and on-site notices first to confirm whether it is a reschedule, berth change or suspension.
  • Unused tickets can be refunded or rescheduled under the refund/change notes; approved refunds return to the original payment method.
  • Do not argue with staff at the wharf — weather-related changes are outside anyone's control, and putting that energy into rebooking is more worthwhile.

Fog actually has its own appeal

Chongqing is famous for fog. In light fog the towers across the river become outlines and the lights scatter into soft halos — more like an ink painting than a clear night. If sailings run normally, fog does not mean a bad experience.

Of course, in very low visibility the viewing value drops clearly, and rescheduling is wiser than forcing it.

Three things before you leave

  • Check the day's weather and any strong-wind warnings.
  • Confirm whether your order status or berth information has changed.
  • Bring rain gear and a windproof jacket — umbrellas are awkward on deck, so a hooded waterproof jacket is more practical.

FAQ

Will the cruise be cancelled in bad weather?
In rain, snow, strong wind or when water levels change, sailings may be adjusted or temporarily suspended; if a sailing changes, refunds or rebooking follow the refund/change notes, subject to on-site arrangements.
Can the cruise run in the rain?
Light rain usually does not stop operations; heavy rain, lightning, strong wind or changing water levels may lead to adjustments or temporary suspension, subject to on-site arrangements. Unused tickets are handled under the refund/change notes.
How do I buy tickets?
On the home page or the "Tickets" page, choose a cruise ticket and type, enter the visitor’s ID details and pay. After successful payment a check-in voucher is generated; board by verifying your original ID card or the document used for booking.
Can I get a refund? How?
Unused tickets can be refunded via "Order Lookup"; once approved, the amount returns to the original payment method. Used or expired tickets are non-refundable; specific rules follow the booking notes.
